Foundations, Foundations, Foundations...

Hey Loves,

So I have been asked time and time again to do a post on all the foundation type products that I own or use and do a quick review on each one so here it goes...

Sleek Blemish Balm
This product had me umming and arrghing for the longest time. In the end I decided to take the plunge and get it. I must say that I am totally sold on it. What I like is the fact that it has a thick consistency and covers up any blemishes that you may have just as the name suggests. I like to wear this whenever I am being lazy and not in the mood to do the whole concealer routine. I would recommend it for sure.

Nars Tinted Moisturiser
I bought this for those days when I needed even colour but was so light that I didn't even remember that I was wearing something. This certainly delivers that. It is light and build-able and also had sun protection built in so is perfect for those odd sunny/hot days that we get in this wonderful England (-_-).

MAC Studio Fix
What can I say about this foundation? I honestly don't know where to begin. I hate this product with every fire of my being... Why so harsh I hear you say? WELL, this product made me suffer. When I began using it I started geting really bad rashes, my face felt like it was burning and my face would be RED! The breakouts that I got from this product was not even funny. I had to put this product to the side to just chill and swiftly changed it when I realised that it was in fact this foundation that was the cause of it all. This product is a big no no for me even though I know it is loved by the masses.

Maybelline Fit Me
I was really skeptical about buying this product but then heard good things so decided it would be my everyday foundation. I like using this particularly whenever I am on placement as it really lasts the whole day, and does not easily transfer (It would be a mess on my white nurses uniform otherwise)! Also I love the fact that it looks like I have nothing on. Definitely a bonus.

Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick
This was the product that I was advised to try after my horrendous experience with the MAC studio fix and I instantly fell in love with it. I like the fact that it is literally no mess as I apply it directly to my face and blend it out with a foundation brush. So no messy liquids on the back of the hand or dripping everywhere. The only thing is that this product does not seem to last all day on me or maybe it is just not compatible with a nurses lifestyle, who knows.

Teint Idole Ultra 24H
This foundation was a gift from my good friend for my birthday last year after she got tired of me going to collect samples to use. This is probably my favourite Foundation out off all the ones I own and I am shade 11 in it. This foundation is a liquid and maybe even a little too runny and is formulated to give you that uniform look and gives a velvety matte finish to your makeup without looking cakey. This foundation is easy to blend in and has a lovely scent to it. You also get SPF 15 protection and is also oil-free.

Sleek New Skin
This foundation I have a love-hate relationship with. What I dislike about 'drugstore' products is that you cannot try them on and test them without having to buy the product which is a real bummer. This i like because it is and everyday foundation that STAYS PUTTT! As in this foundation is not going anywhere in any weather which is really good. My problem with it is that the colour is a bit off! By that I mean that it is dark for my tone but the next one up is too light. I correct this by applying a lighter powder or mixing it with a lighter foundation or concealer.

Yves Saint Laurent
This foundation is one that I reach for when I want that glamorous dewy look. I like the texture of it as it slides in well to the skin. This is another one which is on the watery side which I am not a fan of, but apart from that I really like it and use it when I'm going to an event and want a subtle glow. What I also like is that it is long wearing and seems to last the whole day which is definitely a bonus.

Nars Sheer Matte
As you can probably see in the picture this foundation is basically finished! This is really upsetting as I absolutely LOVE this foundation. I bought it after the Bobbi Brown stick and fell in love. It is a great consistency, blend-able and streak-less. You get great coverage which is also build-able and I really like the fact that it works well with my combination skin. It keeps the areas needed matte while not drying out the rest of my face. This is certainly going to be re-purchased as well as the sheer glow version.

I hope this helps a bit if you are looking for a new foundation. What I would suggest though is to get samples where possible and try it out for a week or two before purchasing it so you do not have any regrets after.
